Jose Benavidez Sr Mocks Charlo Brothers While Calling for a Fight!

When possible, fighters and their respective teams will approach another boxer’s team and draw up a mutually agreeable fight contract like gentlemen. This is not always the case though. Oftentimes, one boxer will have to go to greater lengths to secure the matches that they want. That has certainly been the case for two-time WBC super middleweight champion David “Red Flag” Benavidez (26-0, 23 KO’s).

WHAT YOU GONNA DO?!

For a number of years, Red Flag has doggedly pursued matches with one-time world champion Caleb Plant, undisputed super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and WBC middleweight champion Jermall “Hit Man” Charlo (32-0, 22 KO’s). Sadly for him and his team, none of these pursuits have borne fruit.

Of these options however, Charlo remains one of the juiciest for the fans. Regrettably for those fans, and Team Benavidez, Jermall Charlo has remained remarkably elusive. This frustration heated a cantankerous interview that Jose Benavidez Sr. recently staged with Fight Hype.

“To be honest, they just want to confuse the fans. They call themselves lions, but at the end of the day they are fucking pussies! Let’s make the fucking fights happen! Let’s make the real fights happen! They talk a lot of shit and I have no respect for these guys. If they want to back up what they are saying then let’s make that fight happen!”

Hopefully, Charlo will knuckle-up and take on the challenge of Benavidez. Yet given his very selective diet of digestible competition, it’s not very likely! So let’s just cross our fingers and hope for the best!
