Angel Garcia Predicts KO in Keith Thurman v Danny Garcia Rematch!
After a successful debut at junior middleweight, two-division champion Danny “Swift” Garcia (37-3, 21KOs) has his wish list for his next fight; a rematch with former unified welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman (30-1-1, 22KOs) or a clash at middleweight with Erislandy Lara for the WBA Regular middleweight title.

In the aftermath of Garcia’s one-sided defeat against Jose “Merciless” Benavidez Jr (27-2-1, 18KOs), father Angel Garcia is onboard with his sons revenge rematch against Thurman. In March of 2017, Garcia would suffer his first career defeat as he dropped a split decision to One Time. The elder Garcia feels that since that bout, Thurman hasn’t been the same and predicts his son will stop him in a rematch.
“I’ll take Thurman because he was the one that gave Danny his first L and it was a lot of politics. You remember when they were calling me racist and all that bullshit? We’ll knock Thurman out this time. After Danny, Thurman was never the same.”
Angel is correct about Thurman never being the same, as he had to undergo elbow surgery after that fight. Since then, he’s battled numerous injuries and ailments, leaving him fighting only three times in the last five years. However, with no world title opportunity for the former unified champion, a rematch at 154 against Garcia makes a lot of sense. Will it happen? I wouldn’t hold my breath as One Time still has aspirations of reclaiming his belts at 147.
