Berchelt vs Roman possible for October.
3Kings Boxing has learned that WBC Super Featherweight champion Miguel Berchelt and his mandatory challenger Mickey Roman are in negotiations.
The camps of both Berchelt (34-3, 30KO) and Roman (60-12, 47KO) are negotiating now in hopes of avoiding about a purse bid.
The WBC gave Berchelt and Roman a 30-day window of free negotiations with June 23 as the starting day of that window.
According to sources, negotiations are going well with the hopes of finalizing a deal soon. Plans are for an HBO televised event from a venue in the U.S. on a date in October.
Zanfer and Golden Boy Promotions are doing the behind the scenes wheeling and dealing to make this fight a reality.
