Dmitry Bivol Wins Undisputed Rematch with Artur Beterbiev!
In his latest thrilling tour of duty, Dmitry Bivol (24-1, 12 KO’s) successfully quenched his thirst for revenge. Bivol accomplished this by defeating rival and champion Artur Beterbiev (21-1, 20 KO’s) by way of majority decision. With the spoils of war, Bivol is now the undisputed light heavyweight champion.
Bivol got off to a great start using his wheels to circle the ring and pepper Beterbiev with stiff shots at his leisure. The Russian brute grew tired of this, stepped on the gas and applied serious pressure to Bivol. Through the middle rounds, Beterbiev harassed the challenger with thunderous hooks and withering body attack.
Just as it seemed that Bivol was on the way out the door, in the eighth round he got a burst of energy. From this point on, Bivol moved as if on fresh legs and resumed pestering Beterbiev with his movement. Once the momentum shifted in the second half of the duel, Beterbiev was never able to recover it.
While the two had their moments down the stretch, it was clearly Bivol who won the day. As a result, Bivol got the nod from the judges with the scores of 114-114, 113-115 and 112-116 for Bivol.
