Serhii Bohachuk Forces Team Ishmael Davis to Give Up
In his latest tour of duty, super welterweight fighter Serhii “El Flaco” Bohachuk (25-2, 24 KO’s) defeated Ishmael “The Black Panther” Davis (13-2, 6 KO’s) by way of sixth round corner stoppage.
When the match began however, Davis came out and quickly established himself as a pesky ring general. He did so by troubling Bohachuk with rapidly switching stances and striking his head and body in even rotation. This momentum carried him through the first two minutes of the second period before a short left hook punctured his progress. Davis was dropped hard by the shot in the mouth. After finding his feet, The Black Panther made it to the bell without too grand an effort.
Yet, this change in lead would never switch again. From the third round to the sixth, El Flaco slowly and patiently chipped away at a perplexed Davis by thoroughly slugging him in the arms, body and head. The abuse was manifest in Davis’s busted nose and bleeding eye.
After a particularly stringent drubbing in the sixth, The Blank Panther’s corner threw in the towel. The stoppage win was an excellent rebound to Bohachuk’s majority decision loss to Vergil Ortiz Jr.
