Bomac Believes Crawford Stops Spence No Matter the Division
Two-divisional undisputed champion Terence “Bud” Crawford (40-0, 31KO) stands as the reigning pound for pound king of the boxing world. As the possibility of a rematch with former unified welterweight champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. hovers on the horizon, trainer Brian “Bomac” McIntyre remains steadfast in his belief that the outcome will be the same as the first fight regardless of the weight class.
The boxing community continues to be astounded by Crawford’s commanding performance against Spence Jr (28-1, 22KO) on July 29. The Truth has expressed his desire for a rematch at the 154-pound weight limit before the close of the year.
CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR
In a discussion with Fight Hub TV, Bomac exuded unwavering confidence, asserting that Crawford would replicate, if not enhance, his previous performance.
“I don’t know if it’s going to be at 54 or 47, but I’m sure he’s probably gonna push the weight up. But there’s not going to be no change in the decision. The performance still is going to be the same. It might be even a little bit better. So, he [Spence] might want to watch out before he activates that rematch clause.”
While maintaining his focus on guiding Chris Eubank Jr. to triumph in the imminent rematch against Liam Smith on September 2, McIntyre’s conviction in Crawford’s prowess remains resolute. In addition, he admitted to not knowing if Spence indeed activated the rematch clause.
Crawford himself has expressed a willingness to engage in the rematch within the junior middleweight division. As speculation swirls around the potential activation of Spence’s rematch clause, boxing enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the official confirmation of this highly anticipated bout.
