Lucas Browne vs David Allen in the works for April 13
Former WBA heavyweight champion Lucas Browne says a fight with David Allen is in the works for April 13.
If made, the fight will take place on the under-card of unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua’s next title defense. Browne also mentioned the possibility of a tune-up fight in March against Tom Little.
Browne (27–1, 24KOs) is riding a two-fight win streak since suffering his first career defeat at the hands of Dillian Whyte. He was brutally stopped in the sixth round in May 2018.
He has since registered two knockout victories in under six rounds. Now, looking to get back into title contention, he’ll be seeking his third consecutive win against a very active opponent.
Allen is riding a three-fight knockout win streak. A December return was scheduled, however, exhaustion from an active 2018 where he fought six times postponed his return it.
Known for his toughness, he has been in the ring with the likes of Luis Ortiz, Dillian Whyte and 2016 Olympic Gold Medalist Tony Yoka.
It also should be noted that Browne says he is expected to work with Eddie Hearn moving forward.
