Bryan “La Roca” De Gracia Returns

De Gracia vs Torres in Panama City

Top featherweight contender Bryan De Gracia (23-1-1, 19KOs) will face undefeated prospect Edinso Torres Jr. (10-0, 6KOs).

De Gracia is relatively unknown since he mostly fights in his country of Panama City. Despite very little notoriety, many don’t know he’s ranked by three of the major sanctioning bodies.

The 24 year-old is a former WBC/WBA Latino Fedecaribe Featherweight title holder. Early in his career, critics questioned his level of opposition.

A step-up fight against Jorge Sanchez in 2017 resulted in his first career lost.

However, learning from that experience, he has won three fights in a row against higher level of opposition.

Torres Jr (20), is taking a enormous step up fight after solely fighting in his home country of Venezuela.

He will be traveling to Panama City for the first time in his career while moving up in weight.

The young prospect has never faced anyone with a winning record until now. His handlers must feel confident about his ability to make such a risky move.

Regardless, the reward is worth it as a victory against a highly rated fighter would be a serious boost to his career.

De Gracia will enjoy having the power, experience and home crowd advantage. Launching himself into title conversations in a stacked division can be achieved with a victory here.

Torres Jr all around is at a huge disadvantage. This puts emphasis on the significance of how much of an upset a victory would be.

This contest is scheduled for August 23 at the Fantastic Casino de Albrook Mall, Panama City.
