Frampton To Face Four Division Champ Next
In a fight that looks a little better on paper than it may once it actually takes place Carl Frampton will take on Nonito Donaire in Belfast on April 7th.
Donaire, who is a former four weight world champion has won four of his last fight outings with the loss coming to undefeated super bantamweight champion Jesses Magdelleno. At 35-years-old it’s safe to say the Filipino has seen his best days. The former P4P entrant is 38-4 in a career in which he’s won seven world titles.
After losing his rematch with Leo Santa Cruz back in January, Frampton won his last contest by decision over Horacio Garcia in mid-November after an extended spell out of action.
Although the venue for his April bout against Donaire has not yet been officially confirmed, the fight is expected to take place in Belfast’s SSE Arena with Frampton hoping to challenge for another world title in Windsor Park next summer.
