Caroline Dubois Believes She is More Than Ready for Mikaela Mayer
It looks like we have the roots of a rivalry between upstart women’s lightweight Caroline Dubois (5-0,
4 KOs) and ex-unified junior lightweight champion Mikaela Mayer (17-1, 5 KOs).

3Kings Boxing previously reported that Dubois disclosed that she desires a match with Mayer in 2023. In response, Mayer says she is not interested in facing mere prospects. She further advised that Dubois chill and call her in five years when she’s fully ready and at her level.
NOT BACKING DOWN
Dubois is having none of it. During an interview with UK media source Boxing Social, the 21-year-old from London, England reiterated that Mayer is her target. The Brit fully feels she’s more than ready when and if that matchup were to occur.
“I know I’m at that level, 100 percent. So, it’s just a manner of maneuvering and getting there. I
know I will get there. If I’m going to be beating these people, there’s no point in being afraid of them or anything like that.I’ve never been the kind of person to over-respect somebody. I will respect the world champion, but
that doesn’t mean I believe you’re better than me.If I believe I can beat you, I’m going to say it, and I’d love to fight . . . If she’s thinking that
I won’t be ready in terms of skill and ability, then that’s ridiculous, no chance.”
Dubois is represented by BOXXER. The promotional outlet has invested heavily in Dubois. They feel she has the skill and desire to move up the ranks quicker than most.
Next up for Mayer is a match against Christina Linardatou at 135. Should she win, her calendar is
open for the rest of the year. It would not be a surprise if BOXXER is working behind the scenes with the hopes of putting Dubois and Mayer in the ring against one another at some point.
