Eddie Hearn and Jermall Charlo speak on Instagram live!
WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo (30-0, 22KOs) and promoter Eddie Hearn spoke together on Instagram live. We all know not long ago the WBC champion made some comments directed towards the British promoter in regards to how to go about making fights involving him.
It’s no secret that Hearn would love to match-up WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade (29-0, 18KOs) with the likes of Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez. These are also names fans would love to see the hard-hitting Charlo square-off with. Thus far, there have been no substantial talks on either front in pitting Charlo against the aforementioned fighters. However, Hearn yet again asked Charlo who he’d like to face next.
He asked Charlo if he wanted to face Demetrius Andrade next. He also brought up the fact that a lot of people are speculating that Chris Eubank Jr may be the next challenger for Charlo. Charlo, as he’s constantly done, told Hearn to call Al Haymon.
While the champion didn’t mention the names of the fighters in the video, he did show an example of how he would knock them out as he hit the heavy bag.
This saga of social media talking without fights being made is beyond tiresome, especially in the middleweight division. There’s way too many talented fighters with something to prove with guys on their level to prove it against for fights not to have happened by now.
With majority of these guys still in their primes, there remains hope they all cross each other’s path at some point when it counts.
