Cheeseman vs Byfield for the British junior middlweight title.
The British Board of Control has mandated another domestic level matchup.
Ted Cheeseman (14-0, 9KO), currently holds the WBA International title. The 22 year-old defeated Carson Jones by unanimous decision earlier this year to capture the title. In his first title defense he defeated Paul Upton in a highly competitive bout by technical knockout.
Asinia Byfield (14-1, 6KO), has been on a five fight win streak after suffering his first defeat in 2016. One of his wins included capturing the BBBofC Southern Area title. He hasn’t fought since October 2017, but will be ready for this opportunity.
Eddie Hearn took to social media to confirm that contracts are in order and the fight will take place later this year.
