Clara Lescurat Should Pursue Micaela Lujan Following Dominant Win Over Aguiar

WBA super flyweight champion Clara Lescurat (9-0, 4KO) had no problems traveling to successfully defend the title against Daniela De Jesus Aguiar (7-2, 5KO). After defeating the Brazilian by eighth-round stoppage, it’s time for the champion to unify against fellow Argentinian IBF champion Micaela Lujan (11-1-1, 3KO).

Lescurat controlled the pace of the fight with the jab from the opening bell. Moreover, she fought well off the front foot as her speed, footwork, counterpunching, and ring IQ were on full display. In the eighth round, she turned it up a notch and continued to hit a weary Aguiar with a flurry of punches, forcing the referee to stop the fight.

THE TIME TO UNIFY WITH MICAELA LUJAN IS NOW

After another dominating performance, the WBA champion must unify with Lujan next. Since lifting the title away from Maribel Ramirez in June 2022, Lescurat has been on a collision course with the IBF champion. Fans hoped the two champions would tangle following her victory over Naylea Gil Sanabia in October 2022.

Lujan is the division’s longest reigning champion since winning the title in January 2021. She was last seen in the ring against Irma Garcia as she picked up a win by majority decision in August 2022.

This is a huge fight that the fans in Argentina would pack the arena to see. The super flyweight division is hungry for someone to march towards undisputed, and it can start with a showdown between these two champions.
