Claressa Shields looks to capture two titles at middleweight.
Shields (5-0,2KO’s) will be back in the ring on June 22nd against Hanna Gabriels (18-1-1,11KO’s) for the vacant IBF and WBA titles. This bout will mark her first fight at middleweight.
The event will take place at the Masonic Temple in Detroit, Michigan where she will be looking to pick up belts in her second weight class in under ten fights.
Showtime has been showcasing Shields in preparation for a female mega-fight with pound for pound fighter Christina Hammer (22-0,10KO’s).
Hammer is currently the WBC and WBO Middleweight Champion. She will be defending her titles on the under-card against Tori Nelson (17-1-3,2KO’s). This will be her long awaited debut in America since visa issues prevented her from debuting in January.
Should both women win their respective bouts this June, we may have a female mega-fight to end the year!
