Shobox: The New Generation returns Friday, September 21
The series has served as a proverbial “stomping grounds” for young fighters to showcase their skills and talents before hitting the big time. Evidence lies in the cases of such champions as Regis Progrias, Dmitry Bivol, Claressa Shields, etc.
The night of action features an explosive tripleheader, featuring the highlight of undefeated prospects going head-to-head. The Firelake Arena in Shawnee Oklahoma will stage the fights.
Up first, undefeated lightweights Wesley Ferrer (12-0-1, 7 K0s) and Steven Ortiz (8-0, 3 KOs) will battle in an eight-round contest. Next, undefeated featherweights Irvin Gonzalez (10-0, 9 KOs) and Carlos Ramos (9-0, 6 KOs) meet in an eight-rounder as well.
Last, but not least, the main event:
Undefeated Jon Fernandez (16-0, 14 KOs) and O’Shaquie Foster (13-2, 8 KOs) will clash in a ten-round super featherweight bout.
