Conlan Thrills Irish Crowd In New York

Conlan remains unbeaten

In the final bout of the night from The Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in the Top Rank on ESPN card, Michael Conlan (6-0,5KO’s) took on David Berna (15-3,14KO’s) in an 8 round Featherweight bout. The heavily Irish crowd was on hand to support their fellow Irishman Conlan on this St. Patrick’s Day showdown.

The fight started with fireworks as Conlan landed a big body shot that floored Berna who was able to barely beat the count and survived the round. Conlan to his credit started the second by going to the body hurting and dropping Berna again. Once again Berna beat the count only to have the referee stop the bout shortly after that to send the Irish crowd into a frenzy.

Conlan gets a TKO second round victory making quick work of Berna in his best performance to date. It’s another step forward in the young man’s progression. He sent the crowd home happy as he celebrates his first year as pro and is only getting better.
