Conor Benn vs Adrian Granados Fight Off Due to Positive COVID-19 Test
Rising welterweight contender Conor “The Destroyer” Benn (18-0, 12KOs) was looking to continue his rise through a stacked welterweight division by taking on longtime junior welterweight and now welterweight contender Adrian Granados (21-8-3, 15KOs). Unfortunately for him, he’ll have to wait a little bit longer.
Benn has tested positive for Covid-19 resulting in his bout with the Mexican slugger to be canceled.
Benn who’s ranked number 13 in the IBF, 10 in the WBC and 9 in the WBA wanted to make a huge statement in beating a world-wide respected contender. The timing couldn’t be worse considering the two were less than 48 hours away from fighting. The unbeaten fighter is coming off of a first round knockout win over another formidable contender in Samuel Vargas in April.
At this moment, there’s no word on when or if the bout with Granados will be rescheduled. 3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor this story and provide updates as they become available.
