Dana White Calls The ‘Golden Boy’: Oscar De La Coo-Coo

White Says He Will Work With Anyone But Arum And Oscar

 

After dropping hints about becoming a promoter in boxing it looks likeZuffa Boxing is about to switch into high gear according to UFC president Dana White. White said after the first ofthe year he will start making callsto “everybody that’s anybody in the sport of boxing”. Well noteverybody, accordingto White he isn’t interested in doing business with Top Rank’s Bob Arum or ‘The Golden Boy’, Oscar De La Hoya.

“I’m going to start goofing around over there a little bit,” White said during a media luncheon at UFC headquarters in Las Vegas.

While rivals Arum and De La Hoya, whom White calls “De La Coo-Coo, may have someof boxing’s top talent he believes he don’t need them.

I used to like Oscar,” White said. “How about that Conor McGregor vs. (Floyd) Mayweather was the biggest disgrace ever to the sport of boxing, but him vs. Conor isn’t?”

White said the critics who once rung their hands are now wondering how they can cash in.

“They want to come out and talk and be a part of this,” he said.

The UFC chief said he wants to make the biggest fight’s in the sport. As far as why White wants to make the jump to thesportof boxing he said:

“I just feel it,” he said. “I feel like it’s the right time to give it a shot. Listen, can I do it? I don’t know. Will it work? I don’t know. But I think I have a pretty good idea of how to make it work, and I’m going to give it a shot.”
