Franchon Crews-Dezurn on a Collision Course with Hanna Gabriels!
In her last prizefight, Franchon “The Heavy Hitting Diva” Crews-Dezurn (8-1, 2 KO’s) toppled Elin Cederroos to become the undisputed super middleweight champion. Now, to snap roughly a year’s worth of inactivity, Crews-Dezurn has announced that her next opponent will be three-division champion Hanna “La Amazona Black” Gabriels (21-2-1, 12 KO’s). The Heavy Hitting Diva made the declaration while appearing as a guest on ThaBoxingVoice.
“I am going to fight her and defend my undisputed titles, then I will go up and take her belt . . . she is a current world champion, she is a multi-division champion, she fought the current [and] only three-time undisputed champion [Claressa Shields]. And it’s just, for me, I am about competing and I am going to handle all those other people afterwards. But this is the fight that I want, this is my show and I earned the right to fight someone I wanted to fight, and Hannah’s the one.”
Similar to Crews-Dezurn, Gabriels will also have been out of the ring for about one calendar year when she collides with the super middleweight champion. While she did not become undisputed in her last duel, Gabriels did jump up from super welter to heavyweight to stop Martha Gayton to claim the vacant WBA light heavyweight and WBC heavyweight titles. Not only will this stand as an intriguing fight, it will mark La Amazon Black’s first foray into the super middleweight division.
At the current moment however, the match between Crews-Dezurn and Gabriels is not yet official, but forecasted to take place in the first quarter of 2023. So while it’s great to hear that The Heavy Hitting Diva wants, and is positive, about this duel taking place, let’s wait and see how the backroom politics play out. Yet, regardless of what transpires, 3Kings Boxing will be here to report the news!
