Franchon Crews-Dezurn Challenges Alicia Napoleon
Over the past 13 months Franchon Crews-Dezurn (6-1, 2 KO’s) has gone from struggling to get fights into a world champion. Now, as the current WBC/WBO Super Middleweight champion of the world with the backing of Golden Boy Promotions, she is set on being an undisputed champion.
Via Twitter, the 32-year-old from Baltimore is calling for a fight against WBA women’s Super Middleweight champion Alicia Napoleon (12-0, 7 KO’s). Having her way, she wants the bout to happen in December. Crews made sure to mention Napoleon’s promoter Lou DiBella and Golden Boy Promotions in hopes of making something happen.
DiBella responded by saying it’s a great fight that the fans deserve. Also, he plans to reach out to her team in the near future.
The fighter who calls herself “The Hard-Hitting Diva” is riding the momentum of her recent success to make major moves. To quote the late Bob Marley, “strike the hammer while the iron is hot”. And in the age of social media, using that platform to talk your way into a fight is becoming more and more the wave in contemporary boxing.
