David Benavidez Says Canelo Has Made It Clear He Fears Him
An upset two-time WBC super middleweight champion David “The Mexican Monster” Benavidez (28-0, 24KO) took to social media with a harsh message for the undisputed champion he believes fears him, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (60-2-2, 39KO).

The boxing world continues to attack Canelo for his statement on how much it would take to make the Benavidez fight. In addition, he claimed that The Mexican Monster brings nothing to the table.
“He brings nothing to the table for me. He brings just 25 pounds on the night, that’s it.”
The two-time WBC champion took offense to that statement, and rightfully so. When considering the fact that Jaime Munguia brings even less to the table, Canelo had no problem making that fight happen for May 4.
A STRONG MESSAGE TO THE CHAMPION
It comes as no surprise that a peeved Benavidez responded with such disdain.
He has every right to be upset, yet this won’t get Canelo in the ring anytime soon. During the press conference for the upcoming fight against Munguia, Alvarez praised his opponent for being respectful. It is safe to say that Benavidez’s recent comments won’t put him in the undisputed champion’s good graces.
The Arizona Native is said to be taking on one-time light heavyweight champion Oleksandr Gvozdyk. He seems to be extra inspired about the possibility of taking him out since learning Canelo’s trainer, Eddy Reynoso, is helping the Ukrainian.
With a vast majority of the boxing public, even more now than ever, believing that Alvarez fears The Mexican Monster, fans hope they fight in September.
