Shakur Stevenson Looks Forward to Facing Ryan Garcia Next

WBC lightweight champion Shakur “Fearless” Stevenson (21-0, 10KO) and junior welterweight contender “King Ry” Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20) exchanged heated words on social media. This altercation led to the two of them agreeing to a potential fight.

With his upcoming battle against WBC champion Devin Haney, Garcia has been involved in plenty of verbal exchanges. So, it’s no shock to boxing fans that he and Stevenson had a serious back-and-forth. While speaking on Twitter Space, Garcia stated that he got robbed in a fight against Stevenson in the amateurs.

Of course, Fearless got word of this and took to social media, stating that King Ry was easy work.

Garcia quickly requested that the WBC champion join the Twitter Space. Not one to shy away from confrontation, Stevenson joined, and things got even more intense. As the two argued relentlessly, Stevenson pressed the Californian about fighting him next.

“Fuck it, even if you don’t come out victorious, will you fight me next?”

“If I don’t get the rematch with Tank, I will do it. You have my word. If I don’t get the rematch with Tank, you have my word we’ll fight.”

Although the New Jersey Native was happy that Garcia agreed to a future showdown, he is trying to land a fight with top contender William Zepeda.

This is another example of Garcia being too focused on everything other than the WBC title fight with Haney. These things rarely play out the way boxing fans want them to. Plus, there is no way Golden Boy looks to make a fight with Stevenson if Garcia loses to Haney on April 20.
