STUNNING DEVELOPMENT

According to TMZ Sports, Wilder was pulled over in Los Angeles, California after local authorities say that the 37-year-old was driving in a vehicle that was illegally tinted and had the license plate blocked.

LAPD claimed they smelled what appeared to be marijuana coming from Wilder’s vehicle. They subsequently found marijuana as well as a 9mm pistol following a search of his vehicle. It was at this point that Wilder was arrested, booked, and charged with possession of a concealed weapon. The fighter was released on bond earlier this morning.

Deontay Wilder has been inactive since a first-round knockout over Robert Helenius in October 2022. Word on the street is that the Alabama native is currently in negotiations to face two-time unified champion Anthony Joshua in December of this year. It is unknown if this arrest will have any impact on his rumored bout against Joshua. Stay tuned to 3kingsboxing.com for further updates.
