Devin Haney Promises to Expose Vasyl Lomachenko!

Undisputed lightweight champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (29-0, 15KO) has gone from being the email champion to the king of the division. In his upcoming defense of the undisputed crown against former unified champion Vasyl “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko (17-2, 11KO), Haney is ready to show that Hi-Tech is no master.

TWO FIGHTERS JOURNEY TOWARD THEIR SHOWDOWN

What a difference a year makes. In 2021, The Dream was on the outside looking in trying to get a shot at both former unified champions Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos Jr. After defeating Joseph Diaz, he went full steam ahead in doing whatever was necessary to land the fight with Kambosos Jr.

In 2022, Haney was penciled in as the opponent after frontrunner Lomachenko had to defend his homeland from the Russian invasion. Hi-Tech has since returned to the ring and is ready to challenge for undisputed after defeating Jamaine Ortiz on October 29.

THE UNDISPUTED CHAMPION IS READY

Despite struggling in the early portion of the fight against Ortiz, Lomachenko is still considered a high-level fighter. During an interview on Tha Boxing Voice, Haney responded to legendary promoter Bob Arum’s comments about Lomachenko being a master boxer.

“He may be a master to Bob (Arum), but he not no master to me. At the end of the day, it is what it is. He’s a fighter just like me, he’s human just like me. I will show he ain’t no master.”

The history between these two fighters goes back to 2019 when Haney was trying to fight Lomachenko before the Ukrainian received the ridiculous Franchise tag.

The boxing community is still waiting on the official announcement for Haney versus Lomachenko. Nonetheless, the saga between these two fighters will come to a resolution sometime in 2023.
