Devon Alexander to return May 25 with Roy Jones as trainer

Multi-weight champion Devon Alexander (27-5-1, 14KO) will make his 2019 ring debut May 25. When he does, he’ll do so with a new trainer his corner. The former champion has decided to bring in former four division champion and future hall of fame inductee Roy Jones Jr.

His opponent and which weight class he plans to make a return in is unknown for now. Of note, Alexander was last in action in August; losing a unanimous decision to fellow former welterweight champion Andre Berto.

Kevin Cunningham had been a constant fixture in Alexander’s career, having trained him since youth. The former champion stated he felt it was time to try something different. He will begin training camp in Pensacola, Florida and finish up in Big Bear, California.
