Lou DiBella and Eddie Hearn trade words on social media
The hits just won’t stop and boxing fans are in the front row watching it all unfold live as promoters Lou DiBella and Eddie Hearn air out the dirty laundry on social media.
Ever since it was announced the mega-fight between undisputed lightweight champion Katie “KT” Taylor (15-0, 6ko) and Interim WBC/WBO featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (38-1-1, 28ko), was called off, it has created a turn of events that has taken a life of its own.
THE TWEET
The seven-divisional female champion felt some kind of way about being asked to take a pay cut. This would lead to her deciding to pull out of the fight. However, it didn’t end there. The Puerto Rican champion took to social media to vent and her tweet kicked off a conflict between the two promoters

Lou DiBella Enters The Fray
Of course, the always-vocal British promoter wasn’t going to let that fly and swiftly responded.
This response created a domino effect that saw American promoter Dibella reply.
Wait there is more. Both men would engage in verbal combat dropping tweet after tweet.
Hearn found it to be funny at first, considering he had just finished doing an entire episode with Serrano about the entire situation.
“I confirmed just now I discussed a reduced purse with you and when you said no. I confirmed we will pay the full purse. Amanda said she never received that confirmation.”
“Call me (again) if you want.”
Okay, well we have seen this before and right on cue, DiBella went on a tirade and didn’t hold anything back.
“You spent two weeks holding fast that you needed a purse reduction. In that period, I told Amanda that she wouldn’t fight until you could sell tickets in the UK.”
“WHICH WAS THEN YOUR POSITION.”
“Only at this time last Sunday did you say “full purse.””
Oh wait, he wasn’t even close to being done.
Looking to add one last jab at his rival promotional counterpart, DiBella dropped the mic by pointing out that it was Hearn that first told the media he never asked for a reduction in purse and was ready to reveal the private messages.
“Do you want me to take our private tweets public, Edward? Stop lying. And deal with me, I’m Amanda’s promoter. Don’t antagonize her. Who are you, TRUMP!”
“I called Eddie Hearn this morning, like an adult. I didn’t take to social media. He did.”
Lord, please let the fight get made and make what happens inside the ring be just as good as what we have witnessed on this day of rest.
In the end, the fans want to see this fight happen, and honestly, women’s boxing needs this fight. Hopefully, both parties resolve this issue and bring a much-wanted fight to the entire boxing community.
