Alycia Baumgardner Moves Up to 135 and Reignites Rivalry with Caroline Dubois!
Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner’s fight against IBF 135-pound champion Elif Nur Turhan could lead to a showdown with unified champion “Sweet” Caroline Dubois in 2027. The one-time 130-pound undisputed champion and Sweet Caroline’s heated rivalry has been reignited on social media.
Typically, when a fighter announces a world-title fight, it’s the story of the day. However, these two have been going at it so hard that their recent post has garnered more attention. In the past, Baumgardner (18-1, 7KO) was dismissive of facing the unified champion.
She was heavily criticized for making a double-standard remark claiming Dubois shouldn’t call her out since they are in different divisions. This quickly backfired when fans pointed out that Baumgardner was once trying to fight the much-heavier Claressa Shields.
WILL THEY FINALLY FIGHT IN 2027?
Baumgardner wasted no time putting Dubois on notice, calling for the unified champion to keep the same energy. This led to another heated back-and-forth that captured boxing fans’ attention.

Dubois was hoping to face Turhan in a unification, but things didn’t work out as planned. Instead, she will put her titles on the line against unknown Amelia Moore on August 29. However, her warning to Baumgardner is valid, considering the IBF champion is undefeated and can punch. It is worth mentioning that Turhan has never faced anyone the caliber of Baumgardner, who will enter the ring with the edge in experience, skill, and speed.
If both fighters are victorious, boxing fans can expect their beef to intensify. It will be only a matter of time before their promotional company, MVP Promotions, makes the fight official.
