Easter Jr Set To Return

IBF Champ Ready To Return

3KingsBoxing.com has learned that Robert Easter Jr will likely return to the ring to defend his IBF lightweight title as early as late January. His opponent is expected to be Javier Fortuna.

Easter has been out of the ring since June of this year when he beat mandatory challenger Denis Shafikov by unanimous decision in a very close fight. It will be the Toledo natives third title defense since winning the title in September 2016 by split decision over Richard Commey.

Fortuna is a former two division champion at 126 and 130. He lost his WBA super featherweight title to Jason Sosa but has been on a four fight win streak since, beating undefeated prospects Omar Douglas and most recently Nicolas Polaneo.

According to sources this fight could take place as early as January 20th. It may not be the unification fight fans were hoping for but it is nice to see Easter return to the ring.
