Eddie Hearn Welcomes All Airtime Given by Oscar De La Hoya

In the world of boxing, it’s quite normal for promoters to go for one another’s neck – this is simply par for the course. Therefore, it should be no surprise that Oscar De La Hoya of Golden Boy Promotions recently took Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn to task. In his popular Clap Back Thursday segment, De La Hoya made fun of Hearn’s stable for losing so many fights. Yet, not only did Hearn not take offense to the words, he had a rather atypical response, as he revealed to Fight Hub TV.

“I can’t get into a back and forth because I am giving the guy too much exposure, but I liked his last one, last night. I do find the fact that he’s dedicated so much time and probably that video took the entire day and the editing was really good. I mean what a waste of Golden Boy’s time but, like, it did make me quite horny, I’ll be honest with you! That kind of shit – I love it because Oscar is a big name. So the fact that he is posting about me – doesn’t really matter what he says.”

TWO-FACES OF COMMUNICATION

Obviously, Hearn was not overly concerned with the smear session that De La Hoya put out there for public consumption. In fact, going a step further, Hearn is under the impression that the post could not be more disingenuous. According to the Matchroom Boxing fight maker, Oscar De La Hoya, in person, is totally committed to staying on his good side.

“It’s just something inside him that burns him so bad about me. I don’t actually know what it is because when he’s around me, he couldn’t kiss my ass more!”

Upon hearing his response, there is little to no doubt that, this upcoming Thursday, De La Hoya will have some more choice words for Hearn. So let’s sit back and see where this public rift goes. In the end however, let’s just hope that ultimately, more than public woofing, this results in some quality fights being made!
