Hearn Offers To Help Fury Land A Joshua Fight
Promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom is very interested in working with former unified heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs).
Fury has been out of the ring since November 2015, when he was ableto score an upset twelve round decision over Wladimir Klitschko to capture the IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO world titles.
Hearn is very interestedin possibly making what could be the biggest fight in British boxinghistory between Fury and current WBA and IBF champion Anthony Joshua. He said he has spoken to Fury and thinks he is the guy to help the ‘Gypsy King’ reignite his career and get him the bigfer fights.
“I’ve spoken to him,” said Hearn. “I think he needs some help in terms of a team, it’s a process that is complicated.
“He needs the right advice, he wants to box on the biggest shows, be a box office fighter and fight AJ, I can deliver all those things. More importantly, not thinking about his next promotional move, it’s more about getting him back in the ring, he has a lot on his plate.”
“I understand he is a free agent. I don’t know the ins and outs of that but certainly, if he was we would be very interested in working with Tyson Fury. We can give him the biggest heavyweight fights and ultimately work towards the biggest fight in British boxing history.”
