In the battle for the undisputed minimumweight crown, Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada (26-0, 9KO) walked away with all the belts after defeating Yokasta “Yoka” Valle (30-3, 9KO).
This fight had the entire atmosphere ready to explode as these two women were finally in the ring. Super Bad controlled the fight early with good defense and switching from southpaw to orthodox, landing solid shots. Despite suffering a cut over the right eye in the opening round, Yoka came storming back with straight punches and good counter shots. She even started landing hard left hooks that found the mark.
This fight was going by fast as both fighters continued to fight hard. Estrada’s defense was on point as she used the angles to escape punches before returning fire with solid left hooks that landed at will. Valle wasn’t going to go away without a fight and landed hard right hands that momentarily seemed to have stunned Estrada.
In the closing rounds, Estrada continued to land that left hook, which was money in the second half of the fight. Yet, Valle landed repeated hard right hands that rocked her rival several times as the fight came to a close.
All three judges scored it 97-93 in favor of Super Bad, who became the first undisputed women’s minimumweight champion. This was good enough that fans would want to see it again. Let’s see if they do a rematch.
