Tevin Farmer vs Jono Carroll is Set for March 15
The long-standing twitter battle will now transition into the ring! Tevin Farmer (28-4-1, 6KO) will attempt to capture his third IBF title defense against #4 ranked contender Jono Carroll (16-0-1, 3KO) in Philadelphia live on DAZN!
Social media followers of these two witnessed the back and fourth action that spanned over the last few months. The beef really picked up when the IBF ordered an eliminator between Carroll and #3 ranked contender Guillaume Frenois.
That bout took place in December 2018 but the result was not one Carroll would have liked. The Irishman took control of the early rounds but faded down the stretch. He became a one-dimensional fighter running into jabs from the middle to late rounds.
In the end, two judges were split and the third judge had the fight even for a split draw. Although, many onlookers felt Frenois did enough to win the fight.
Given his last performance, this would be a surprise to see Carroll in a title bout under normal circumstances. In all actuality, Frenois deserves this opportunity more. However, shortly after the draw was announced, Farmer took to Instagram and posted a video taunting Carroll.
Within his taunt, he mentioned he would still give him a shot at the title. That leads us to March 15! Who wins?
Regardless, both men will get the opportunity to back-up the social media tough talk in the ring in what should be an exciting bout!
