Tevin Farmer will fight the “other” man from the December IBF eliminator next!
3kingsboxing.com has learned IBF super featherweight champion Tevin Farmer will return to the ring on July 27.
The opponent will be #3 ranked challenger Guillaume Frenois at the College Park Center in Arlington, Texas. The fight will air on DAZN.
Arguably the most active world champion in the sport, this will his fourth title defense in nine months!
Farmer (29-4-1, 6 KO’s) stated during the announcement documented on Matchroom Boxing’s website:
“July 27 will be the fourth defense of my world title in just under one year!
“There is no other world champion as active as me and I don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. I’m only 28 years old and I’m still learning and still improving each and every time I step in the ring.”
Frenois (46-1-1, 12 KO’s) last fought to a controversial draw against Farmer’s last opponent, Jono Carrol. The bout was supposed to be an IBF eliminator in which many fans felt Frenois should have been the next challenger for the title.
A former European champion, Frenois has done a bit of trash-talking in calling Farmer a “fake champion.” Francois has also accused the Philly fighter of ducking him.
Farmer has promised to bring his “A-Game” against the French contender as he’s still in pursuit of the big names and the big fights.
“It is no secret that there are major fights out there for me in the division, but I need to take care of business first with Frenois, who has had a lot to say.
July 27 is going to be my best performance yet!”
