Florian Marku Headlines And Cruises To Victory Over Jorick Luisetto
Number 12 ranked IBF welterweight contender Florian “Albanian King” Marku (9-0-1, 6KOs) will look to build on his current momentum when he takes on Jorick Luisetto (11-2, 3KOs) in their eight round bout. Marku was catapulted into the world rankings after winning the IBF international silver title with a split decision over Maxim Prodan in September.
For Marku to be where he is currently in boxing is quite the accomplishment already. This considering he is a former mixed martial artist and kickboxer.
His opponent Luisetto is an unknown commodity and glancing at his record, no real names stick out. At 33, the Frenchman has never been stopped in thirteen career bouts.
His plan was to halt the momentum of the Albanian King, but that did not go as he hoped.
Things started out with Maku coming forward utilizing his jab, footwork and reflexes to show he’s the more complete fighter. His combinations would include uppercuts, left hooks and straight right hands down the middle. As the fight would continue, Luisetto would make adjustments by throwing his own jab and right hand in between punches.
However, Marku would continue to apply effective aggressiveness by slipping and throwing punches to body and countering with uppercuts. Every time Luisetto would stop punching Marku make him pay by unleashing bone crusting blows to the body, as well as, left uppercuts in between the gloves.
As the fight was coming to a close, Marku was still looking to entertain the crowd. By doing so he would drop his hands inviting Luisetto to land shots of his own. The strategy worked as the Frenchman would oblige but pay for his attempt. Marku would finish the fight strong by continuing to nullify his opponent’s attack, slipping punches while still going to the body.
After the conclusion of eight dominant rounds, unsurprisingly Florian Marku would be announced as the winner by decision.
Although his performance was dominate, he could benefit from another fight or two if he wants to compete in a deep and loaded welterweight division. However, he has his mind set on facing WBC/IBF #7 and WBA #9 ranked welterweight Conor Benn!
