Frank Martin Believes Tank Loses By Knockout If He Gets Sloppy
Come June 15, lightweight contender Frank “The Ghost” Martin (18-0, 12 KO’s) will take on his biggest professional challenge. On that night, under the hot lights of the MGM Grand, Martin will fight WBA 135-pound champion Gervonta “Tank” Davis (Abdul Wahid) (29-0, 27 KO’s). Going into this showdown, Tank most certainly will be the favorite based on experience and his arresting power
Despite this, The Ghost is not fearful or lacking in his own confidence. In fact, when providing a brief Q&A for Fight Hype, Martin cautioned Davis not to become too overzealous, lest he fall victim to knockout loss himself.
“If it presents itself, yeah, Tank can be knocked out. He ain’t exempt from getting knocked out! So, if he get in there and act up, he’s going to run into something. Or, I might go get him; it depends!”
MAY THE BEST MAN WIN
While many say this is a step up for the #2 (WBA) and #7 (IBF) ranked Frank Martin, at the same time there is not a shortage of people who believe that The Ghost will be Tank’s most difficult opponent. If this turns out to be true, it will be very interesting to see how they challenge one another and what adjustment they force the other to make.
“That’s what they want me to think, they want me to think this is out of my league; this is too soon for me. Ain’t nothing too soon for me, I am different. Can’t nothing they can say about me [or] to me [that can] make me think differently of who I am and what I’m finna do!”
Thankfully this fight is just around the corner. So we will not have to wait but so much longer to arrive at this, hopefully, thrilling conclusion! Yet, no matter how this skirmish ends in the ring, stay tuned to 3Kings Boxing for all things related to the sweet science.
