Gabriela Fundora Spies Glory Against Evelin Bermudez At 108

Undisputed flyweight champion Gabriela “Sweet Poison” Fundora has firmly established herself as the dominant force and the woman to beat at 112 pounds. After essentially clearing out the division, her attention is now turning toward a new challenge: a junior flyweight showdown with unified champion Evelin “La Princesita” Bermudez.

Fundora (18-0, 10 KOs) delivered another commanding performance on March 14 in Anaheim, California, stopping Viviana Ruiz Corredor in six rounds to successfully defend her undisputed titles. Following the victory, Sweet Poison revealed that she intends to make one more defense at flyweight before dropping down to 108 pounds.

TARGET-LOCKED ON BERMUDEZ

It’s becoming increasingly clear that Fundora and her team have their sights set on Bermudez. In interviews leading up to the Corredor bout, Fundora openly mentioned the Argentine champion as a potential future opponent.

Bermudez (22-1-1, 8 KOs) has established herself as one of the elite fighters in women’s boxing. A two-time unified champion at 108 pounds, she currently holds three of the four major titles in the junior flyweight division and has built a reputation for consistently facing top competition.

Because of her accomplishments and experience, many observers see Bermudez as perhaps the toughest possible challenge for Fundora anywhere between 108 and 115 pounds.

A CHANCE TO DOMINATE ANOTHER DIVISION

For Fundora, the opportunity is enormous. If she successfully moves down and defeats Bermudez, she will immediately position herself to control yet another division. With Bermudez holding three belts at junior flyweight, a victory could allow Fundora to capture most of the division’s titles in a single night.

Just as important, Bermudez has historically shown a willingness to face elite opponents regardless of the risk. A fight against the undefeated Fundora would likely come with one of the biggest paydays of her career, making the matchup even more appealing.

Given that Fundora’s team has already publicly discussed Bermudez as a target, it would not be surprising if early conversations between the camps have already taken place. If momentum continues to build, this high-stakes clash could materialize by the end of 2026 or early 2027, setting the stage for one of the most intriguing matchups in women’s boxing.
