Fury Adds Hatton To Team

Hatton to work Fury’s corner during return

Former heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury is expected to name his opponent next week for his June 9th comeback bout. Earlier today though 3KingsBoxing.com was able to confirm that former UK superstar Ricky Hatton will be part of Fury’s corner when he returns.

Hatton will assist new trainer Ben Davison in the corner. There’s been numerous posts on social media by Fury with him training at Hatton’s gym in Manchester so the confirmation isn’t all that shocking.

When we reached out to Hatton he was quick to reply via message and said;

“Tyson knows I’m behind them 100%. I’m in full support of Ben and Tyson and if they want me in the corner I’m there any time they ask. I think Tyson can get back to his former glories and get his titles back. Ben is adding to what Peter (Fury) gave him.” he said.

Davison spoke to MEN Sport regarding the addition of Hatton earlier;

“Ricky will be helping us out and will be in the corner with us so we’re very thankful to Ricky for that,” said Davison.

“Ricky is one of the best fighters that the country has ever produced and him and Tyson have a lot of common. The facilities at his gym are great and we’ve got a great team now, so we’re really looking forward to the fight.”

When Fury climbs in the ring it will be for the first time in over 30 months. After defeating longtime kingpin of the heavyweight division, Wladimir Klitschko, the self proclaimed Gypsy King was stripped of his titles for drug and mental health issues. His return is being looked at with skepticism by some.
