Tyson Fury Kills Any Notion of a Fight with Anthony Joshua Happening
WBC heavyweight champion Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury (33-0-1, 24KO) is not interested in fighting former unified champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22KO). This comes off the heels of Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn suggesting a fight with Joshua was possible for the summer.

THE BACKSTORY BEHIND FURY VS JOSHUA
In 2021, the two teams tried making the fight happen. However, things got derailed after an arbitrator ruled that Fury was obligated to instead rematch former champion Deontay Wilder. In a more recent attempt, in 2022, Fury publicly challenged his fellow countryman via video on social media. Once again, both teams worked frantically on trying to make a deal, and once again the fight got scrapped.
Now, Team Fury is focused on the undisputed showdown with unified champion Oleksandr Usyk. Their fight is rumored to take place at Wembley on April 29. However, there has been no official announcement, at this point. Should negotiations for that fight fail, Hearn sees that gap as the golden opportunity for Joshua to step in. At least, that was his opinion as stated in an interview with iFL TV.
FURY NO LONGER CARES ABOUT FIGHTING JOSHUA
This statement sent a buzz all over social media. However, Fury spoke with Sport Bible and made clear that the Joshua fight is no longer of interest to him.
“I don’t even go there anymore. Finished. No interest in any AJ questions. Zero. Man’s dead in my eyes. There’s no business between me and him to be done, finished. From 2017 to, however long it’s been, 2022 – trying to make the fight. So, it’s not happening.”
