Tyson Fury eyes Jarrell Miller or Trevor Bryan for October bout!
In an interview with Behind The Gloves, “recognized” lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury revealed who he’d like to face off against in his next fight on October 5.
The two men mentioned were unbeaten interim WBA champion Trevor Bryan (20-0, 14KOs) and top contender Jarrell Miller (23-0-1, 20KOs).
In facing Bryan, Fury would face a guy who, like Miller, is undefeated, hails from New York and stands at about 6’4″. Bryan has yet to fight in 2019. His last fight taking place in August of 2018 where he stopped long time cruiserweight contender BJ Flores in the fourth round to win the interim title.
Miller seems like a long-shot to secure the fight with Fury primarily due to him being suspended by the NSAC for six months due to failed drug tests. Miller’s suspension, which started on June 1, with Fury returning on October 5, would mean he would have only served five months of his six month suspension.
At this point, with ESPN wanting Fury to face an American contender, Bryan may just be the best bet. While he doesn’t have a huge following, he does bring the WBA interim title, good size, power and would likely jump at the opportunity.
