Gabriela Fundora is a Dominant Force in Women’s Boxing
To many fight enthusiasts, boxing in 2025 has been largely underwhelming—if not outright disappointing. One undeniably bright spot is undisputed flyweight champion Gabriela “Sweet Poison” Fundora, who is becoming an elite fighter. In addition, she is arguably the most entertaining fighter in women’s boxing today.
In her most recent outing, Fundora retained her titles with a commanding seventh-round knockout over Alexas Kubicki on September 20. One of the common criticisms of women’s boxing is the lack of knockouts or stoppage victories. That’s not the case with Fundora.
While she certainly has the skills to outpoint her foes, it’s her ability to consistently hurt opponents—and finish them—that sets her apart as a uniquely dangerous and compelling fighter.
At just 23 years old, Fundora also has the versatility to move up or down in weight, making it likely she’ll capture titles in multiple divisions and control the lower-weight classes for years to come. Outside the ring, her sweet and endearing personality contrasts sharply with the ruthless competitor who emerges once the bell rings. Those qualities position her not only as a potential major box-office attraction, but also as the future standard-bearer for women’s boxing.
