Gabriela Fundora Makes Mincemeat of Alexas Kubicki
In her latest tour of duty, IBF, WBC and WBO flyweight champion and human woodchipper Gabriela “Sweet Poison” Fundora (17-0, 8 KO’s) shredded Alexas Kubicki. From round one, Fundora was a unrelenting whirlwind of strikes, knuckles and hard angles that pounded on Kubicki’s face and body. After seven rounds, referee Ray Corona had seen enough and halted the battering.
The impressive one-sided drubbing marked the second defense of her WBC and WBO titles and the fifth of her IBF strap. Despite her fighting on all cylinders, the future is rather unclear for the accomplished champion. There is no question that Fundora has established her dominance in the flyweight division. With this being the case, she is naturally thinking about what challenge she wants to adopt next.
This is where the fork in the road enters. Due to her ability to easily make weight, Sweet Poison is just as apt to go down in weight as she is to go up in weight. In either case, her height, volume, reach and power will no doubt remain formidable obstacles for whoever stands across the ring from her. So, since she has left us on a severe cliffhanger, let’s wait and see what’s next for Team Fundora.
