Ryan Garcia Complains About Bill Haney Wanting VADA Testing

“King” Ryan Garcia’s (24-1, 20 KOs) objection to using the Voluntarily Anti-Doping Agency raises serious red flags. In addition, he called out two-division champion Devin “The Dream” Haney’s father, Bill Haney, for only wanting to use VADA.

In 2024, Garcia tested positive for a banned substance after defeating Haney. He was suspended and fined, and the biggest win of his career was overturned. Several fans and pundits feel he hasn’t done anything to prove his innocence while serving the suspension.

With the possibility of a rematch on the horizon, King is not interested in using VADA. He took to social media with a statement that would raise even more eyebrows.

“It’s getting really strange why it’s always Vada. Can we get some other organizations to test? Cause you got Bill pushing only Vada, never says any other organizations, and it’s strange he’s pushing a certain organization. Don’t you just want any kind of testing? All this sounds like the people pushing to use VADA are getting some type of cut money-wise to have people use Vada. Seems unethical. This is just my opinion.”

“I will always state my innocence. I’m clean, but that organization I will never use again.”

A LITTLE TONE DEAF

Haney wants to use VADA because of its association with the WBC’s Clean Boxing Program. In addition, why wouldn’t they use the same organization that caught Garcia cheating? It only makes sense.

Garcia’s complaint is pointless. He shouldn’t have any issues with going through the same process again. If you’re as innocent as you claim to be, there should be nothing to hide, right?

King’s refusal to use VADA could mean a rematch with The Dream is no longer an option. More importantly, it should raise further suspicions from the fans and pundits. It’s a bad look for him as he continues to do nothing to prove he’s clean. It only fuels the opinion of some in the boxing community who felt he got caught being a dirty fighter.
