Murat Gassiev set to make his heavyweight debut in the summer!
Former unified cruiserweight champion Murat Gassiev will make his heavyweight debut July 27 in the United States. This will be his first fight since losing in the WBSS final against Oleaksandr Usyk July 2018.
As of now, the venue has not been determined, although, the headline for this particular card will feature WBO junior welterweight champion Maurice Hooker. Additionally unknown is the opponent Gassiev will face.
It’ll be interesting to see how he fits in a crowded heavyweight division. Stylistically, he should have no problems adapting, however, many feel he had unfinished business in the cruiserweight division when the decision to move up was made.
