Eddie Hearn believes a Canelo vs Jacobs bout is next

IBF middleweight champion Daniel Jacobs could possibly find himself facing unified champion Canelo Alvarez in 2019.

Many challengers from junior middleweight to super middleweight would love to hit the “Canelo Lottery!”

However, Jacobs has a significant advantage having Eddie Hearn as his promoter. Signing a separate contract to feature on DAZN would be simple if a this bout is guaranteed.

Hearn feels the only option is Jacobs and believes he should be the next fight. He makes some valid points in the following statements:

“When we signed Jacobs the aim was to have two fights and then fight Canelo or Golovkin.

“He had the two fights but then they rematched [Canelo and Golovkin]. He nearly got that fight.

But now there is no excuse for him not to get the cinco de mayo date. Lemiuex is out sick. Out of the picture. So who else can it be?”

Jacobs performance against Golovkin alone is enough for most fans and pundits to get behind a fight with Canelo and most already have.
