Eddie Hearn Discusses the Progress on Making Devin Haney Versus George Kambosos
Unified lightweight champion George “Ferocious” Kambosos (20-0, 10ko) is looking to make a big fight in his home country of Australia. A QUICK LOOK BACK
Kambosos is taking advantage of his position, as the top dog of the division, and rightfully so. Since defeating Teofimo Lopez, the Australian champion has been the focus of the entire division. Fans remember the face-to-face that took place between the him and Haney. It set the internet on fire when the unified champ agreed to fight The Dream for true undisputed.
“We are going to get it done, and there won’t be any more games or bullshit about what it is.”

IT IS GOOD BEING THE CHAMPION
During an interview with Fox Sports Australia, Kambosos made it known that they are looking over deals, and the challenger must be willing to travel to the land down under.
“We are sitting here negotiating, making sure that they are going to come to Australia first. That is most important, that they will travel down under.”

Haney has already expressed a willingness to travel, if need be, to Australia. As he put during their face-to-face conversation: “I’ll fight you on Jupiter if I got to.” Furthermore, he made a post on social media proclaiming to become undisputed this year.
“2022, I will collect the remaining!”

HEARN WANTS TO GET IT DONE
During an interview on the DAZN boxing show, Hearn revealed details of talks taking place for the fight and possible locations.
“I spoke to Lou DiBella [CEO of DiBella Entertainment] yesterday I think. You know obviously he’s doing his work in Australia. So we’ve had offers from the Middle East from Haney against Kambosos, or certainly one we are edging towards receiving a firm offer for.”
“For me, it’s the only fight for the division […..] We need to wrap up this undisputed situation. We need to know who is the real champion.”
“It’s a brilliant fight, we can do it Sunday afternoon in Australia, which is prime time U.S. We can do it in the United Arab Emirates. We can do it in America. Devin Haney is ready to go for that fight.”
“He [Haney] won’t price himself out. he realizes George Kambosos is the king of the division right now […] Devin is ready to do whatever he’s got to do to become undisputed. Hopefully, myself, Lou DiBella, Peter Khan [Kambosos’ manager], and Ferocious promotions can get that fight over the line.”
