Eddie Hearn Dates October 29 for Katie Taylor Return!

Back in April, undisputed 135-pound champion Katie “KT” Taylor (21-0, 6KOs) went to war with multi-weight world champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano (42-2-1, 30KOs). The two ladies packed out Madison Square Garden in New York in a bout that surpassed all the pre-fight hype. The fight would witness both fighters hurt, and Taylor would ultimately retain her titles by way of a close split decision.

As is with most great, close fights, there was immediate demand for a rematch. Unfortunately, after not being able to come to terms, both ladies were forced to go their separate ways. With that, Taylor is set to return to the ring on October 29 at Wembley Arena. Her opponent will later be determined by her promoter, Eddie Hearn.

“We’re going to make an announcement I believe [on] Friday about our show. October 29 Katie Taylor will return, watch this space. She has a number of mandatories to take care of. We’re also going to keep a keen eye on Cris Cyborg, who I believe has got her boxing debut coming up. She won’t be fighting her on October 29 but that could be one for maybe the end of the year. We still talk about the Amanda Serrano rematch as well, who we’re talking to MVP about.”

WHO WILL SHE FACE?

“The legend shall return, October 29 in London. Wembley Arena. She’ll be headlining. Undefeated mandatory challenger. 135 pounds.”

Names of mandatories Taylor could face include WBC number one ranked contender Sofya Ochigava (6-0, 2KOs) and IBF number one ranked Estelle Mossely (10-0, 1KO). Ochigava is a noted amateur rival of Taylor’s, whom she battled in the Olympic games. Regardless of who it is Taylor faces next, all eyes will be on her. We here at 3kings Boxing will continue to monitor the story and provide updates as they become available.
