Inoue last fought and won a grueling twelve round unanimous decision against four-division champ Nonito Donaire (40-6, 26KO) in November of 2019. With the victory, he became the only unified champion currently at bantamweight and won the division’s first World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) tournament.
He is now expected to take on WBO champion John Riel Casimero (29-4, 20KO) sometime after boxing returns from temporary postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
