Is Chris Billam-Smith Next Up for Robin Safar?
In his latest tour of duty, cruiserweight contender Robin “ROBZ” Safar (19-0, 13 KO’s) defeated Derick Miller Jr. by way of unanimous decision. With the victory, and his undefeated record, Safar will no doubt be on the hunt for bigger and better competition, such as UK bruiser Chris Billam-Smith. Currently, ROBZ is ranked #5 (WBO) and #9 (IBF), which gives him rather favorable position in the division.
One of the most recognizable names within striking distance is Billam-Smith (21-2, 13 KO’s). In his last duel, he bounced back into the win column with his victory over Brandon Glanton following his November 16, 2024 unanimous decision loss to Gilberto Ramirez. Back on the winning side of things, the UK pugilist will no doubt want to continue his upward ascent, similar to Safar.
In that regard, the two men could potentially be beneficial to one another. Of the two, Billam-Smith has the more recognizable name, yet neither are marquee names here in the states. A solid win for either would certainly nudged them in a positive direction. For the time being however, we will have to play the waiting game and see what Team Safar can come up with next.
