Jacobs vs Derevyancheko on HBO in Madison Square Garden, NY.
Previously, 3kingsboxing.com reported a postponement in the deadline for both sides to reach an agreement. The date of July 10 was set aside just in case a purse bid needed to be ordered. However, according to our sources, the teams have reached an agreement for the fight to air on HBO on a date of October 20, 27 or in November!
There was much speculation this fight would actually happen since there were a couple of “conflicts of interest.” Both combatants are trained by Andre Rozier and managed by Keith Connolly.
In the past, WBC light heavyweight mandatory Oleksandr Gvozdyk refused to fight WBO champion Sergey Kovalev because both are managed by Egis Klimas. Only one conflict of interest here kept was enough to keep these two from fighting each other.
However, both Derevyanchenko and Jacobs have voiced putting there friendship aside for a shot at the IBF title. They may do just that in three months!
