Jacobs vs Sulecki Suddenly Becomes Meaningful

WBA orders bout as eliminator

Next month’s upcoming fight between Daniel Jacobs (33-2,29KO’s) and Maciej Sulecki (26-0,10KO’s) is now a WBA middleweight title eliminator. The WBA decided earlier today to make the bout an eliminator which will make the winner the mandatory for Gennady Golovkin’s WBA Middleweight Title.

The bout which has been agreed upon for quite sometime now suddenly has higher stakes and takes on a whole new meaning. The fight is scheduled for April 28th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY and it will be televised live on HBO.

Jacobs is coming off a lopsided unanimous decision win over Luis Arais back in November. While Sulecki was last in the ring in October when he defeated former super welterweight champion Jack Culcay by unanimous decision.

If Jacobs the heavy favorite should win it will line him up for another shot at Golovkin and the title.
